Spanish Consulate in Manchester

Now that the UK is no longer a member of the European Union, in order to live, work or retire in Spain, UK passport holders need to apply for a visa at one of the Spanish consulates in the UK.

Which consulate you need to visit depends on where you live in the UK. If you live in Wales, the Isle of Man or anywhere between Northamptonshire and North Yorkshire, you’ll need to go to the Spanish consulate in Manchester.

Address

Getting there:

By car
Driving into Manchester City Centre can be a bit of an adventure – the one-way system can be a challenge to navigate. Parking is plentiful however, with big multi-storey car parks in close proximity to the Consulate, the nearest being Piccadilly Plaza, Chinatown and the City Council parking at the Arndale Centre. Check out the NCP website to book in advance.

By train
Although Oxford Road is the nearest train station by distance, you’ll find more services enter Manchester via either Piccadilly or Victoria stations. There’s a direct train from Manchester airport to Piccadilly Station (journey takes about 30-40 minutes). Although the Consulate is theoretically within walking distance of both, we recommend you jump in a taxi outside the station.

By bus/tram
The Metrolink tram service in Manchester is a great way of avoiding driving – the nearest stop to the Consulate is St Peter’s Square.

At the Consulate

Be sure to arrive early and have your documents prepared and organised as per the Checklist and application pack that we send you.

Even if there’s a queue, because you have an appointment you can go straight to the front door, show your email confirmation and you’ll be given instructions from there.
