The Victoria Beer Factory Tour – Malaga

The Victoria Beer Factory Tour

Since moving its factory back to Málaga in 2014, Cervezas Victoria, or Victoria Beers, has truly made its mark on the city. Originally established in 1908, the company decided to reopen its doors in its birthplace, challenging major competitors like San Miguel and Cruzcampo.

In the province of Málaga, it has been a resounding success. Leveraging its local heritage and the fact that it is a genuinely good lager, Victoria’s clever marketing campaign has led it to become the most popular lager in the province. Most bars in the city centre now stock it as their house lager. You’ll see signs and beer taps of Victoria everywhere, and they also sponsor some of the biggest music events in the area.

Even better, you can tour the factory for just €8.50. The tours are conducted in English or Spanish and can be booked directly on their website. Be sure to book well in advance, as the tours are extremely popular and often fully booked up to a month ahead. Whether you’re on holiday or living locally, the tours are perfect for celebrating a birthday party or as a day activity for residents in Spain—adults only, of course.

The tour lasts around 30 minutes, starting with an explanation of the factory’s history, why they moved back to Málaga, and plans for the future. You’ll then view the factory through large glass windows while learning about its operations. There is a small museum section at the back where you’ll hear about the development of the logo, labels, and bottles over the years. Finally, you are shown how to pour the perfect pint of Victoria and how to tell if it has been served correctly in a bar. After this, you’ll never look at a Victoria beer the same way again.

The real fun begins with a tasting session of Victoria’s newly launched IPA-style beers. At a prepared table, you’ll sample five beers while the tour guide explains the unique flavours of each one. You have about 20 minutes to enjoy these beers after the tour, so it’s wise not to drink the entire bottle of each.

The beers include the following:

Once completed, the tour ends with a thank-you from your guide. You can get to the tour using public transport: bus EMT Lines 9, 5, 10 and the Malaga Area Transport Consortium M-110, M-112, M-113, M-132, M-230, and M-334.

By metro Palacio de los deportes stop (L2).

If you are the designated driver, here’s the Google Maps link to the address.

Cheers! Or, as they say in Spain ¡Salud!
